White House Releases Updated COVID-19 Action Plan

On March 2, the Biden administration released an updated version of the president’s national COVID-19 action plan. The “National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan” outlines the federal government’s strategy going forward and includes the following broad initiatives:

  • Protect Against and Treat COVID-19: Launch vaccination efforts for children under the age of 5 when the FDA OKs vaccines for that age group, sustain manufacturing of COVID-19 vaccines and tests, and more.
  • Prepare for New Variants: Improve data collection, expedite regulatory reviews of variant-specific vaccines, and add at-home tests to the national stockpile.
  • Prevent Economic and Educational Shutdowns: Give schools and businesses tests and supplies to stay open and update guidance.
  • Continue to Vaccinate the World: Increase international vaccine distribution.
