SAMHSA Releases Advisory on Peer Supporters’ Role in Crisis Care

The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) issued a new advisory in June that discusses the role of peer support workers in crisis care and models of peer support services that are available to assist individuals who are experiencing a crisis. The advisory covers peers’ key roles in the process of responding to crises and includes a number of best practices.
