Description: The use of telehealth has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. As providers and clients continue to utilize telehealth for service delivery it is important to utilize best practices for engaging specific populations through telehealth platforms. This training will provide recommendations for engaging youth and families using telehealth for service delivery, including crisis services. Participants will gain knowledge about building and maintaining rapport with youth and families through telehealth, associated benefits and limitations of providing treatment using telehealth, and understand best practices for services delivery through telehealth modalities.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to describe appropriate uses of telehealth and associated benefits and limitations, when working with youth and families.

  2. Participants will be able to identify engagement strategies for youth and families when using telehealth.

  3. Participants will be able to identify tools, resources, and best practices during the delivery of telehealth services, including crisis services, when working with youth and families.
