Behavioral Health Therapist – Greenleaf Family Center: Akron, OH

Job Description:
The Behavioral Health Therapist will work closely with individuals, couples, families, and groups to assess, diagnose, and treat those struggling with mental and emotional disorders as defined in the DSM-5 TR, including substance use and trauma related disorders, within the guidelines of accepted evidenced based programming.

Our goal is to provide effective, compassionate care to the clients in our community as we seek to help clinicians grow personally and professionally through regular supervision, building connections with experienced staff, and monthly trainings.

Greenleaf Family Center is a Community Behavioral Health Center site that qualifies for the Great Minds Fellowship Workforce Commitment Incentive Program. New graduates in behavioral health fields, including counseling and social work, may be eligible to receive up to $20,000 in loan repayment by committing one year of full-time employment. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving their mental health and behavioral well-being.

This role requires a strong foundation in various therapeutic techniques, including applied behavior analysis and cognitive behavioral therapy, to effectively support individuals in overcoming challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment/service plans appropriate to the client’s diagnosis
  • Provide direct services to clients
  • Complete comprehensive and clinically accurate diagnostic assessments
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate manner to comply with all certification standards and funding sources’ requirements
  • Document all case planning and necessary collateral contact (Ex. Communications with CSB, Justice Systems, other community partners, etc.) in a timely, accurate manner
  • Maintain updated clinical licensure including completion of CEU requirements.
  • Maintain and update skills related to crisis de-escalation, basic first-aid, CPR, and other agency required training

Experience:

  • Education: Must be working towards a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, and possess licensure or licensed eligibility for practice including; CT, LPC, LSW, or MFTProficient in Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience of the diagnosis and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders including Evidenced-based Programs and Practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, and licensure or licensed eligibility for practice including; CT, LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, or MFT

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
