Chief Executive Officer - The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA): Columbus, OH


Pending the retirement of its current CEO, The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA) anticipates an opening for its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has begun the hiring process. The CEO of this statewide member organization reports to its Executive Council and is responsible for meeting the association’s mission through advocacy, programming, outreach, and resource development.

The CEO will:
- Work with members to set the Association’s Vision and Strategic Priorities.
- Represent the Association’s interests with local, state, and federal public policy makers, elected officials and stakeholders.
- Provide expertise and leadership to staff and members pertaining to mental health and addiction, the community behavioral health system, and public policy advocacy.
- Actively pursue resource development opportunities to complement Board dues and fund Association action.
- Administer the day-to-day business of the association.

- An undergraduate degree required, with a master’s or advanced degree preferred.
- At least five years’ experience in a senior executive position with supervision and resource management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated successful advocacy with elected and appointed officials at the state and county levels.
- Skilled public speaker.
- Understanding of appropriate organization financial oversight and resource development.
- Knowledge of Ohio’s community behavioral health system.

The salary range for this position will be a minimum of $160,000 or commensurate with experience. The compensation package also includes an automobile allowance and benefit package.

The position is primarily office-based in Columbus, Ohio, with travel throughout Ohio.

Expected start date: May 2024.
