Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) is an organization dedicated to the development and operation of quality alcohol and drug-free living in a community of recovery for people with substance use disorders. An affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), ORH supports our associates in meeting the quality established by the NARR Standards. 

Position Purpose

Under general direction of the Executive Director, the Housing Certification Review Coordinator is responsible to assist in the management and administration of the ORH housing applicant certification process and to reexamine participants for continued certification assistance. 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities                                                                                                                .

  1. Works with Ohio Recovery Housing applicants throughout the certification process and answers inquiries from the general public and other interested parties.
  2. Provides information required for recovery housing operators to meet national quality standards (NARR).
  3. Maintains accurate records detailing the status of ORH applications and associates. Works with applicants and inspectors to schedule and complete inspections.
  4. Assists with peer reviewers during on-site reviews by ensuring all topic areas are covered during the review and ensuring documentation is complete.
  5. Supports organizational growth and program development.
  6. Assists ORH in the review of concerns related to associate recovery housing operators in accordance with the ORH concern review process.
  7. Represents ORH, at the request of the Executive Director, to communicate regularly with ORH associates, funders, and other stakeholders including the NARR.  Provides presentations on recovery housing or related information at events and conferences as requested.
  8. Completes other projects as directed or assigned.

    6. Work requires a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and proof of auto insurance for required travel. 

Minimum Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent with at least three (3) years professional experience working in a non-profit is necessary.  Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy, health care administration or related social services area is preferred. Previous professional experience with SUD recovery in any capacity (AA, NA, AlAnon) is required. 

Reporting Relationship

This role does not have direct reports but effective collaboration with co-workers, members and external contacts is a critical success factor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment with travel for on-site reviews and meetings to various locations via vehicle across the state of Ohio.
