Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) is an organization dedicated to the development and operation of quality alcohol and drug-free living in a community of recovery for people with substance use disorders. An affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), ORH supports our Associates in meeting the quality established by the NARR Standards.

Position Purpose

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Administrative and Grant Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to Ohio Recovery Housing team and coordinating grant related activities.  

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  1. Provides administrative support to ORH leadership and program staff.
  2. Supports compliance and data management for the ORH certification review process.
  3. Assists with applicants invoicing, accounts receivables data entry and prepares management reports. and running reports related to payments.  
  4. Monitors external communications via phone and ORH website, directs external communication to appropriate staff.
  5. Provides customer service to individuals who contact ORH seeking information about recovery housing.
  6. Attends and takes notes and minutes for Advisory Board and Committee meetings.
  7. Assists with donor relationship management, including ensuring acknowledgement of donations and maintaining appropriate donation records.
  8. Assists with meeting and event planning, including event location and logistics management.
  9. Provides data entry into ORH database and generates reports for staff to support certification review process, grant management, and program response.
  10. Coordinate and assist in development and submission of grant proposals.
  11. Track grant performance, complete all grant related reporting according grant requirements.
  12. Manage any sub-grants that ORH provides, including creation of sub-grant applications, sub-grant reviews, and all records associated with sub-grants to ensure grant compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, non-profit management, social work, public health, or a related field.   Three years of experience in administrative support, grant writing, and grant administration. 

Reporting Relationship

This role does not have direct reports but effective collaboration with co-workers, associates and external contacts is a critical success factor.
