Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc., is a private non-profit agency, providing continuous service to the community since 1971. The Center provides a wide range of services for adults whose lives have been affected by their own or another’s use of alcohol or other drugs, by problem gambling, or by mental illness. Licensed, trained professionals offer support, education, and counseling to individuals, families, businesses, other service providers, and the community at large.   • High school diploma/G.E.D.
  • Appropriate licensure as Certified Peer Recovery Supporter.
  • Minimum 2 years lived experience of substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health & substance use disorder.
  • An understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery.
  • Knowledgeable about Substance Use Disorders, principles of Motivational Interviewing and community resources.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Able to work independently and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings/weekends and off site as scheduled.
  • Valid driver’s license required. 


  • The Treatment Engagement Specialist will utilize expertise associated with addiction and recovery experience and become a resource to individuals and families. They will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to re-engage individuals in treatment services, and to provide Peer Recovery Support services in residential programs.
  • Provide re-engagement support for individuals who have stopped complying with outpatient or residential treatment services.
  • Assist individuals in identifying barriers (internal and external) to full participation in recommended treatment services.
  • Identify, develop and implement strategies to overcome these barriers and successfully re-engage individuals in treatment services.
  • Facilitate the individual’s reintroduction to services.
  • Assist individuals to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.
  • Assist individuals in developing their own plan for advancing their recovery.
  • Collects and maintains tracking data, submitting reports to Risk Quality Coordinator or COO monthly, including numbers served, numbers re-engaged and other related outcomes.
  • Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the achievement of the individual’s goals and interests.
  • Maintains professional standards of ethics and adheres to LGRC Code of Ethics, including client confidentiality, client’s rights and client’s grievance procedure.
  • Maintain required professional licensure/ certification.
  • Serves on Alumni Association Committee and participates in events.
  • Completes client charting and other required documentation in a timely, professional manner.
  • May transport residents as necessary and assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in agency and treatment team meetings as needed.
  • Maintain contact by phone and/or e-mail with recovering person after treatment completion to ensure their ongoing success and to provide support in partnership with others in the agency or community if needed.
  • confidentiality, client rights and grievance policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge and implementation of office policies and procedures; insures consumer compliance with same.
  • Develops/maintains positive personal and agency relationship with all stakeholders including referral sources and community resources.
  • Relates and works well with peers and other agency staff in a professional/team approach.
  • Maintains certification status.
  • Background Check and Alcohol and Drug Screen required.
