POSITION SUMMARY:
 

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Project Manager will oversee all activities related to the Statewide Consumer Network grant. The Statewide Consumer Network grant, awarded to OhioPRO by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), has a primary objective of enhancing statewide mental health consumer-run organizations to promote mental health and related service system capacity and infrastructure development. The Project Manager will coordinate all grant activates to address the needs of underserved and under-represented consumers with histories of mental health or co-occurring disorder. The position is responsible to ensure the five grant goals are met and exceeded. The goals include 1) enhance consumer participation, voice, leadership, and empowerment statewide to effect systems change and improve the quality of mental health services; 2) facilitate access to evidence-based and promising mental health peer-delivered practices; 3) enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities within mental health service and/or mental health peer support providers across the state related to recovery and peer support, and peer engagement/empowerment; 4) emphasize and build consumer leadership within consumer-run organizations and in communities across the state, as well as through partnerships and collaboration with allied stakeholders;  5) build capacity and sustainability of statewide consumer networks; and 6) promote activities related to fostering leadership and management skills with mental health peers and peer-run organizations, engage consumers via training, awareness, outreach and support; strengthening organizational relationships with state, regional, and local government entities and community stakeholders, and identify and implement technical assistance to promote mental health peer involvement, peer support, and mental health peer leadership within organizations, communities, and at the state level. 

The position is responsible for all grant reporting and ensuring timely submission of the same. 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLOWING): 

  1. Oversee all activates of Statewide Consumer Network grant
  2. Responsible for maintaining electronic filing system and all record-keeping
  3. Advocate for consumer participation on all 58 local behavioral health Boards
  4. Create partnerships with state and community agencies in policy development to support needed consumer direction and participation in treatment and service system improvements
  5. Enhance consumer voice, empowerment, and participation in all behavioral health policy development, planning, and implementation across the state
  6. Promote the adoption of evidence-based best practices for mental health peer support service delivery
  7. Coordinate regional trainings and symposia with established provider hubs
  8. Identify learning objectives for trauma-informed series specific to the work of consumers and identify qualified presenters who are persons in recovery to conduct the trainings
  9. Coordinate activities that seek to increase consumer involvement in leadership in workforce and program development
  10. Serve as an advisor to Peer Support Certification Curriculum Continuing Education redesign
  11. Participate in the development of a mobile application that allows certified peers to connect with and support one another and assist in the implementation of the same
  12. Collaborate with partner organizations to provide leadership and management development and mentoring to peer run organizations and ensure effective consumer governance and management of the organizations
  13. Promote recovery-oriented services based upon existing needs in the state
  14. Assist in building capacity and infrastructure of statewide consumer network  
  15. Prepare presentations, plan and coordinate statewide, regional, and local meetings, and produce reports regarding the same
  16. Create database and tracking systems to measure the effectiveness and impact of peer support services
  17. Utilize social and other media to conduct outreach initiatives
  18. Convene monthly Statewide Consumer Network implementation meetings
  19. Advocate for multiple pathways of recovery that are inclusive of mental health, substance use disorder, and trauma under the umbrella of wellness.
  20. Create collaboration opportunities that generate collective synergy and amplify the impact of recovery
  21. Communicate the state of recovery in Ohio by capitalizing on available data across the Recovery Oriented System of Care to educate stakeholders and cultivate change.
  22. Ensure all grant deliverables are satisfied and that reports are submitted timely
  23. Foster strategic relationships with existing community partners and establish relationships with new community partners
  24. Demonstrate professional conduct at all times
  25. Reliable and predictable attendance is required
  26. Perform other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ideal candidate will be a person with a lived experience and in long-term recovery from a mental health disorder, substance use disorder, and/or co-occurring disorder.
  • Embrace the mission, vision, and values of Ohio Peer Recovery Organizations
  • Excellent communications skills (both oral and written communication) and adaptable communications style
  • Independently motivated, goal driven, and results-oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Be empathetic to the peer community, and to the needs of both peers and peer run organizations
  • Must have reliable transportation and be licensed to drive in state of Ohio.
  • Proficient with marketing-related software programs
  • Ability to learn use of secure systems
  • Skilled at time management of both self and others
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with software programs/applications including Microsoft Office suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) Canva, WordPress, Keynote, Zoom, Constant Contact (or like programs), LastPass (or like programs)
  • Be a person of empathy
  • Demonstrate commitment to grant objectives and mission of OhioPRO
  • Must possess excellent data management skills to effectively manage and use information. Data management skills involve looking for patterns, understanding database design concepts and being able to participate in short and long-term planning about database projects.
  • Be numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, and able to make sense of metrics
  • Master’s Degree in behavioral health or related field or bachelor’s degree in the same plus two years of related work experience.  Requisite relevant experience will be determined at the sole discretion of the Executive Director.
