Manager of Case Management Services (LISW, LPCC, IMFT)

This is a management position that reports to the Director of TBS Services. This position has general responsibility for clinical, administrative and fiscal direction, planning, and supervision of a clinical team of TBS Specialists utilizing a trauma-informed approach. This team is responsible for delivering services that meet the needs of clients, customers, constituents, and the community in compliance with performance and production standards and with requirements of regulatory bodies and/or contracts. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leads and supervises TBS Specialists to ensure quality services
  • Supervises the direct provision of client services including, Diagnostic Assessment, individual group and family counseling, TBS services and consultation
  • Oversees the FIRST & ESMI Evidenced Based Programs (first episode psychosis & early severe mental illness) including tracking essential program data, supervising staff, and maintaining communication with referral sources and other agencies within the community.
  • Responsible for the supervision of care management, utilization management, risk management, and quality management in accordance with agency policies and procedures and OMHAS and CARF criteria in the TBS Department.
  • Complete assessments as needed and supervises and/or supports staff activities such as conducting family meetings, attending to clients in crisis.
  • Monitors team productivity and coaches staff to ensure that individual and team productivity is met.
  • Monitors team's compliance with Quality Improvement standards and is responsible for QI data, contributing to improvements and reports, fidelity reviews and/or other reports deemed necessary.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the services.  
  • Assigns cases and oversees with caseload management so caseloads are balanced and utilization reports are monitored.
  • Supervises Quality and Utilization Management functions, including aspects of care, record review and outcome indicators.
  • Demonstrates high standards of organization in monitoring TBS Specialists' completion of all job duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following:
  • a working knowledge of Nord Center Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues.
  • Must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures.
  • Must be skilled in implementing the Recovery Model in the treatment of consumers with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Must be able to oversee appropriate care management and utilization review functions within the service.
  • Must have basic computer skills for word processing and spread sheet construction.

WORKING CONDITIONS

A great deal of time is spent in an office environment. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods and will spend a portion of their time on the telephone. Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times. A considerable amount of time may also be spent working on a computer so the employee should have close vision ability. The employee will have frequent client contact either in person or on the phone, and must have good speaking and language skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Master's degree with independent licensure in the State of Ohio as an LISW, LPCC, or IMFT. A minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral healthcare with an additional one year in a supervisory role with clinical and management responsibilities preferred. Must have favorable references and/or evaluations. Strong written and oral skills are necessary. Must be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate good time management and organizational skills. Basic computer skills required, including touch typing and familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills pertaining to time-effective behavioral health care treatment approaches and the Recovery Model of psychosocial rehabilitation. Must operate in a way that is collaborative, promotes constructive group process, goal attainment, conflict resolution, and a cohesive, supportive work environment. Must demonstrate the importance of balancing clinical, administrative, and finance considerations in decision-making. Must model and teach both managed and resource-based core competencies and ways to constructively deal with change in a service market that is in constant flux. Must tailor supervision to the strengths, developmental needs, and goals of supervisees while always in the context of consumer and organizational needs. The necessity for travel in this job requires that the employee possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with less than 6 points in a 36-month period and use of a personal vehicle.
