Community Counseling Center of Ashtabula County has an immediate, full-time position available for a Supervisor whose responsibilities include the planning, monitoring and supervision of staff and services to assure compliance with the policies and procedures of the agency and to insure that the services delivered are appropriate and effective. Experience in providing services of the IPS Supported Employment (SE) program which assists clients in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with the clients vocational goals and takes into consideration their individual strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences is preferred.

This position reports to, and is supported by, the Chief Clinical Officer. It is a full-time salaried position exempt from overtime. This Supervisor has oversight of a team of Supported Employment Specialists who have direct care, inter-departmental, and community stakeholder responsibilities in the provision of services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, and/or chemical dependency barriers, and who may also have legal obstacles to overcome, to help resolve or minimize effects of their impairment(s) during job search or work activities. This Supervisor should have experience with evidence-based practices which involves assisting with the following employment activities: vocational planning/assessment; training (work & personal); job seeking skills training; job development/placement; job coaching; individualized supports; benefits planning; general consultation, advocacy, and building/maintaining relationships with employers; IPS SE; rehabilitation guidance and counseling; and time unlimited vocational support.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field is required. Previous experience in the mental health field is desired (for Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) programs serving people with serious mental illness). LSW or LPC at minimum. LPCC-S or LISW-S preferred. The position requires a valid driver’s license, driving infractions within the last three (3) years subject to Agency policies and no DUI, drug, theft or felony charges in the past; reliable transportation; and adequate levels of insurance and insurability. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Prior behavioral health work experience is required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. 

WORKING SCHEDULE:

Current Agency operating hours 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Mon. - Fri. Our full-time positions are based on a 40 hour work week, one evening per week is required at a minimum and schedule is dictated by client and agency needs. 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

The Supervisor is required to have the following skills with a general client population: clinical interview methods; individual, family, and group counseling methods; knowledge and techniques for facilitating personality/behavior change; capacity for collecting, organizing, and reporting data in order to reach valid clinical conclusions; ability to develop and implement Individual Service Plans; skills in crisis intervention and emergency services; specialized knowledge of the mental health field; knowledge of the implementation of current applicable diagnostic standards; the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; the ability to establish and maintain clinically effective relationships with clients and significant others; the ability to function as part of an organization by working with others and by adhering to established policies and procedures. This position requires training in First Aid, CPR and De-escalation techniques (re-certification can be provided).
