School Based Liaison

The Buckeye Ranch is looking for a creative and effective leader to fill a newly created position for our school-based mental health program.  As a School-Based Liaison, the selected candidate will be the clinical leader whose primary goal is to partner with school districts and school leaders to decrease the gap in access to mental health care.  The School-Based Liaison implements evidence-based strategies in an integrated school setting to increase resiliency and strengthen social-emotional learning skills for students experiencing impairment in multiple areas.   Our school-based program provides intense services to emotionally impaired students in our partnering school districts. The School-Based Liaison manages relationships with school districts and buildings and provides clinical supervision for School-Based Mental Health Providers. A successful candidate will go through intensive training to learn and implement evidence-based modalities and receive ongoing training and consultation to help with developing providers and engaging school leaders.   

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and directs the School-Based Program. Collaborate with school districts and individual school buildings to complete needs and readiness assessments and identify evidence-based strategies for implementation.
  • Approves treatment plans, diagnostic assessments, and all progress notes in a timely manner with appropriate feedback.
  • Assures documentation meets ODMH, COA, and Medicaid standards ODMH, COA, and Medicaid standards. Accrediting, regulatory bodies and payors
  • Clinical supervision of school-based providers scheduled at least biweekly for each individual and with the team on a regular basis.
  • Participates in Critical Incident reviews, Patient Care Monitoring, and Disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintains licensing and professional credentials and currency of professional competency by participating in required continuing education offerings and through supervisory oversight.
  • Participates as on call supervisor for community-based programs and lethality assessments as needed for unlicensed staff.
  • Complete safety plans, mental health assessments, notes, and incident reports on an as needed basis.  Maintains compliance with all standards, regulations, and rules pertinent to services provided. 



  • Master’s Degree in Social work or related field required 


  • At least 2 years work experience in a school setting or implementing school based mental health strategies required. And, 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks including Profiler and Outlook
  • Certificates & Licenses: LISW-S, LPCC-S, or LIMFT-S 


  • Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License, insurance on your vehicle, and a driving record that allows for transportation of youth per OAC guidelines.
