Chief Medical Director

CHC Addiction Services – Akron, OH 

CHC Addiction Services is a non-profit Behavioral Health Treatment Center in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. We are currently seeking a Medical Director to oversee our Opioid Treatment Program. The Medical Director provides medical services to patients and staff, is a physician licensed by the State of Ohio medical board, and is identified as the Medical Director of the Opioid agonist program as required by 42 CFR. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide diagnosis and treatment of patients with substance abuse disorders, to include medical examinations, treatment, quality of care;
  • Administers or directs the administration of health treatment procedures;
  • Review and approve all CHC procedures pertaining to use of medication, laboratory testing and procedures, general health services, opioid agonist program operation, and any policy or procedure requiring specific action by a physician;
  • Issue standard medical orders to be renewed monthly and carried out by CHC’s nursing staff;
  • Supervises program development, clinical administration and management of the Residential Medical Services;
  • Ensure that all medical/somatic services are appropriately performed by the opioid treatment program;
  • Responsible for providing physician call coverage for all patients of CHC to include RAMAR, our residential facility, and consultation for hospital emergency rooms. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Ohio State medical license, board eligible in a primary care specialty, must be privileged at an area hospital and licensed to order and dispense scheduled drugs.
  • State medical license, certification by the American Society of Addiction Medicine or Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS).
