Community Counseling Center of Ashtabula County is a non-profit behavioral health provider focused on engaging the community in recovery. We are currently seeking energetic, team-oriented Psychiatrist or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with prescriptive privileges to provide direct medical treatment for Corporation clients with a focus of serving children and adolescents. CCC has been providing quality behavioral health care to Ashtabula County residents for over 55 years. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates must be Board-eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry; Certified Nurse Specialist with a psychiatry focus and prescriptive authority; or Nurse Practitioner with a Psychiatric Mental Health Certification and prescriptive authority. The position requires a valid driver’s license, driving infractions within the last three (3) years subject to the Corporation Handbook and no DUI, drug, theft or felony charges in the past; reliable transportation; and adequate levels of insurance and insurability.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in a community mental health setting preferred.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Help support our mission by providing professional client care with a strong, team-oriented approach for medication evaluations and monitoring. Apply your medical knowledge to screen, diagnose, treat, and manage the mental health care of identified individuals.

 

JOB DUTIES:

The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:

1. Psychiatrist - Provide direct clinical care of patients in the Psychiatry Department; APN - Responsible, in a collaborative practice model with supervising physician, nursing staff, and other staff, for the medication management of assigned clients.

2. Conducts psychiatric/medication evaluations, medication reviews and ongoing treatment across client’s lifespan with a focus on children and adolescents.

3. Prescribes medications as indicated and appropriate within the scope of her/his practice. Sends prescriptions in a timely manner per protocol.

4. Ensures appropriate hospitalizations (voluntary and involuntary) of clients as indicated.

5. Responsive to emergency situations as appropriate.

6. Responsible for accurate and timely documentation including: psychiatric assessment, med/somatic progress notes and treatment plans, medication orders, and other paperwork associated with psychiatric care.

7. Records clinical documentation in the format appropriate, acceptable and on time as dictated by Corporation standards.

8. In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds hours of client care unit expectations established by Corporation.

9. Consults with clinical staff regarding treatment issues as appropriate. Signs and co-signs appropriate billing documents and treatment plans.

10. Participates actively in Medical Services Team meetings.

11. Provides consultation and education to internal and external customers as appropriate.

12. Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth.
